2019: A Year of Learning and Sharing
1.15.2019
Cletis Earle, Chair, Foundation Board, Kaleida Health
As a member of CHIME, I often am the beneficiary of my relationships with CHIME Foundation firms and the people in them. When I want to evaluate a new technology, I can tap into the technical expertise of a company that specializes in just that technology. When I need to squeeze every dime from a budget, I can turn to Foundation partners to help me find the best deal. And when I have a problem, I have access to the top-tier executives in their companies who can help me right the ship much faster than if I had to follow the standard channels.
This year I will serve as the chair of the CHIME Foundation Board. I have had the opportunity to get to know many of our Foundation partners, either while I was the 2018 CHIME Board chair, a faculty member at the 2018 CHIME Partner Education Summit (CPES) or through CHIME’s many networking events. I hope this year to meet and interact with each of our partner firms and learn about your goals and needs.
As your board chair, I look forward to finding new and better ways to help you and CHIME members foster the kinds of relationships that I have experienced. We know healthcare is a challenging environment, but also one with exciting opportunities. Healthcare IT is evolving at a fevered pace. To harness its potential, we need CIO and industry partners learning from each other and sharing what we know.
This year will be one of education and engagement. I encourage you to take advantage of the educational opportunities we offer. With CPES, you can enjoy programs designed specifically – and exclusively – for Foundation firm representatives. But you also have a chance to attend the keynotes at CHIME’s spring and fall forums, as well as track sessions and other events. CHIME is holding our second annual Advocacy Summit in June, too, where you and your team can join members of CHIME and CHIME’s associations as we all try to make sense of policy in Washington, D.C.
CHIME will continue to offer numerous networking events during educational sessions to allow you to get to know CIO members. Focus groups also provide a chance to exchange ideas candidly and with no distractions. It is these kinds of experiences that pave the way for long-lasting partnerships.
On behalf of the CHIME Foundation team, I wish you a happy New Year and a wonderful 2019. Please keep in touch and let us know how we can help you make this the best year yet.
