Censinet Announces Several Extensive Healthcare Cybersecurity and Risk Management Advancements at ViVE 2022
Company Extends Protection against Escalating Threats to Both Providers and Vendors, while Substantially Extending Its Cybersecurity Transparent Ecosystem
Boston, MA and Miami, FL – VIVE 2022 Conference – March 7, 2022 – Censinet, the leading provider of risk management solutions for healthcare, today announced significant product and partnership advances that address the unprecedented threats to healthcare providers and the organizations that serve them. Censinet is introducing both provider and vendor solutions through its Censinet RiskOps™ platform.
“We believe that industry collaboration among the healthcare ecosystem is the most effective way of reducing cybersecurity threats to patient safety and data,” stated Ed Gaudet, CEO and Founder of Censinet. “Our announcements at ViVE this week reflect the significant progress that Censinet customers – providers, vendors, and partners – are making towards eliminating as much cyber risk from their enterprises as possible.”
Censinet will demonstrate these new platform capabilities and discuss significant partnerships and initiatives in the ViVE Cybersecurity Pavilion at Booth 1012-16. Censinet executives, customers, and other healthcare risk professionals will be on hand to discuss how the Company and its partners are coming together to advance healthcare cybersecurity and risk management. Some of this week’s key announcements follow.
Censinet Introduces a Major Advancement in Healthcare Provider Cybersecurity: HICP
Over the past several years, Censinet has become the benchmark for healthcare cybersecurity risk management. Healthcare professionals and technology leaders created Censinet to enable a scalable method for identifying and managing risk specific to healthcare, thereby preventing data breaches, ransomware, and supply chain disruption. Trusted by leading healthcare providers, Censinet helps organizations address risk across their business, including vendors and third parties, patient data, medical records, research and IRB, medical devices, the supply chain, and more. Censinet works with IT, Security, Risk, and GRC teams within healthcare organizations of varying sizes, ranging from local clinics and regional hospitals to large healthcare systems, as well as critical third-party vendors and suppliers that support providers.
At ViVE, Censinet introduced a powerful extension to its Censinet RiskOps™ platform: support for healthcare provider assessments aligned with HHS 405(d) Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices (HICP). Censinet RiskOps for HICP is available now and deployed across a range of healthcare organizations. For more information, please visit censinet.com/hicp.
Censinet Elevates Risk Management and Cybersecurity for Healthcare Vendors
year, KLAS, a healthcare research and insights firm, selected Censinet as its healthcare risk management partner. Together, KLAS and Censinet created the breakthrough Cybersecurity Transparent program to help elevate the cybersecurity and risk management posture of the vendors who supply and support healthcare providers. This voluntary program recently exceeded its targeted milestone, with more than 200 products now achieving the Cybersecurity Transparent designation.
At ViVE 2020, KLAS and Censinet will recognize recipients of the prestigious achievement. Last night, at the Fontainebleau Hotel, both companies held a joint award ceremony to recognize both the companies and acknowledge the program’s success.
“Third-party partners play a major role in allowing providers to deliver innovative healthcare initiatives and programs,” stated Cormac Miller, Censinet President. “Healthcare innovation and cybersecurity need to be in lock-step; the current reality for many is that the process for demonstrating strong cyber controls is a significant tax on time and resources for providers and their partners. That’s why our work to create a more efficient mechanism with KLAS via the Cybersecurity Transparent initiative is so critical to our industry, and we’re honored that so many excellent companies have already joined us on this journey.”

Censinet Selected by the American Hospital Association as the Preferred Cybersecurity Provider for Cyber Firm Risk Management and Information Governance
Censinet Also Selected for Cyber Risk Assessments, Privacy, and HIPAA Compliance
Boston, MA – March 2, 2022 – Censinet, a leading provider of risk management solutions for healthcare, today announced its selection by the American Hospital Association (AHA) as an AHA Preferred Cybersecurity Provider for two critical risk management categories in healthcare: Cyber Firm Risk Management and Information Governance; and Cyber Risk Assessments, Privacy, and HIPAA Compliance. Following a strict evaluation and due diligence process, the AHA selected Censinet RiskOps as an excellent solution for both service categories to help hospitals and health systems as they develop and implement their cyber security strategies.
As a Preferred Cybersecurity Provider, Censinet’s flagship risk management solution, Censinet RiskOps™, is offered at an attractive pre-negotiated discount to the AHA membership of nearly 5,000 hospitals, healthcare systems, networks, other providers of care, and 43,000 individuals.
In healthcare, cyber risk is a patient safety risk. Censinet RiskOps is the first and only risk management platform purpose-built for healthcare and designed to reduce risks to patient data, patient safety, and patient care. Implemented at several of the top health systems globally, Censinet RiskOps covers more healthcare-specific risk workflows and requirements than any other solution available today. These workflows enable risk management of global clinical and business-critical vendors, third-party software, hardware, professional services, medical devices, research conducted by institutional review boards (IRB), general suppliers, consumer health mobile applications, affiliated practices, internally-developed software applications, as well as enterprise risk, governance, and compliance programs.
“AHA members will benefit from the unmatched performance and effectiveness of Censinet RiskOps,” stated Ed Gaudet, CEO and Founder of Censinet. “It will help mitigate the cybersecurity talent shortage. Our solution sets the bar for overall system productivity and efficiency, enabling CIOs and CISOs to expand their risk coverage significantly and visibility with fewer resources. On behalf of the more than 28,000 healthcare providers, vendors, and products that Censinet serves today, we are honored to have been selected as an AHA Preferred Cybersecurity Provider.”
“Over the past two years, the healthcare industry has suffered more cyber attacks impacting patient care than ever before,” said John Riggi, national advisor for cybersecurity and risk at the AHA. “Based on reputation, customer satisfaction, and healthcare leadership, we selected Censinet for specific services because they met the extremely high standards we set for our Preferred Cybersecurity Providers – we welcome Censinet to the AHA Preferred Cybersecurity Provider program.”
The AHA created the Preferred Cybersecurity Provider (APCP) Program in early 2021 to meet the urgent cybersecurity needs of its members. With a continued increase in the number of breaches reported by the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil rights (HHS OCR) and surge in ransomware attacks on health care delivery organizations, risks to care delivery and patient safety are at an all-time high. The APCP Program assists AHA members by directing them to firms such as Censinet that provide exceptional value in terms of both pricing and the quality and effectiveness of cybersecurity services.

Censinet Delivers First and Only Enterprise Risk Management Product With Support for Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices (HICP)
New Offering Enables Healthcare Organizations to Demonstrate HICP Coverage and Address OCR Standards for Consideration During Enforcement Actions
Boston, MA and Miami, FL – VIVE 2022 Conference – March 7, 2022 – Censinet, a leading provider of risk management solutions for healthcare, today announced Censinet RiskOps™ for HICP, the industry’s first and only enterprise risk management solution built for Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices (HICP). Offered as a standalone solution or integrated with the Censinet RiskOps Third-Party Risk Management platform, Censinet RiskOps for HICP streamlines and automates the Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices into an easy-to-use and powerful workflow and reporting solution. With Censinet RiskOps for HICP, healthcare organizations gain visibility into their current cybersecurity risk posture, affording business, GRC, and IT leaders a clear picture of their HICP coverage while spelling out the specific actions required to improve their cybersecurity risk posture to ensure patient safety and safeguard protected health information (PHI) and systems.
“Today’s launch of Censinet RiskOps for HICP revolutionizes how the healthcare industry protects patient care by effectively integrating cybersecurity best practices and enterprise risk management,” stated Ed Gaudet, CEO and Founder of Censinet. “Alternative security and risk frameworks have historically been expensive, difficult, and time-consuming to implement for most healthcare providers. Censinet RiskOps for HICP enables physician practices, hospitals, and large, integrated health networks to affordably prove they are doing the right thing to improve their overall cyber posture.”
The publication of the HHS 405(d) Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices (HICP) in 2019 outlined a healthcare-specific approach to cybersecurity. Created in partnership with public and private organizations across the healthcare industry, HICP provides “practical, understandable, implementable, industry-led, and consensus-based voluntary cybersecurity guidelines to cost-effectively reduce cybersecurity risks” for “health care organizations of varying sizes.” To achieve this, HICP focuses on the five most prevalent cybersecurity threats and ten cybersecurity practices that address those threats. Recent laws and regulations, such as the update to the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH), instruct OCR to consider implementing these recognized cyber security practices during enforcement actions in the case of breaches. If certain recognized security practices such as HICP can be demonstrated to have been adopted for at least 12 months, it can lead to mitigated fines, early, favorable termination of audits, and mitigated remedies in settlement agreements.
“The Health Sector Coordinating Council established HICP to reduce cybersecurity risk cost-effectively, support organizational adoption, and deliver actionable guidance for protecting patient safety and data,” said Erik Decker, Chief Information Security Officer at Intermountain Healthcare, Co-Lead of the 405(d) Task Group, and Chair of the Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council Cyber Security Working Group. “A solution such as Censinet gives healthcare providers the means to easily and effectively support the creation and management of HICP, resulting in a more protected healthcare system.”
Censinet RiskOps for HICP delivers assessment workflows that guide healthcare organizations through an internal audit that maps directly to the 405(d) HICP documentation. It automatically generates a report for your board or HHS that demonstrates your cyber posture. Key capabilities include:
- HICP-based questionnaires aligned to organization size
- Automated generation and tracking of findings and remediations
- Peer benchmarking
- Forecasts projecting future risk coverage based on identified corrective actions completion
- Evidence uploading to demonstrate best practice adoption
- Report generation for Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office for Civil Rights (OCR), and insurance
- Assessment segmentation for evaluating regional or practice area risk exposure
- Custom scheduling of assessments and reassessment to match organizational requirements
- Scoping assessments to address unique organizational structure
- Importation of previous assessments for establishing a single repository
- Executive dashboard that reports on overall cyber posture
Censinet RiskOps for HICP is available now, and the Company will be demonstrating these new platform capabilities in the ViVE Cybersecurity Pavilion at Booth 1012-16. Censinet executives and healthcare risk professionals will be there to answer questions on HICP, its integration into Censinet RiskOps, and how any healthcare organization can get started.

Clearwater Introduces New 405(d) HICP Assessment and Related Software Tool to Help Healthcare Organizations Demonstrate Federally Recognized Cybersecurity Practices Are in Place
Healthcare’s Cyber Risk Management Leader Expands Solution Set to Include Consulting Services and a New IRM|Pro® Module Developed to Efficiently Assess Performance Against 405(d) Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices
NASHVILLE, TN (March 1, 2022) – Clearwater, the leading provider of Enterprise Cyber Risk Management and HIPAA Compliance solutions for the healthcare industry, announced today its 405(d) HICP Assessment and IRM|405(d) HICP™ software, an addition to the company’s suite of software products delivered through its SaaS-based platform IRM|Pro®. The new offering, which includes consulting services and software that can be purchased together or independently, can help healthcare organizations position themselves to reduce fines and penalties, shorten or terminate audits, and mitigate remedies that would otherwise be involved in resolving potential violations of the HIPAA Security Rule, by demonstrating recognized security practices have been in place for at least 12 months.
The Cybersecurity Act of 2015 (CSA), Section 405(d), established an industry-led process to develop consensus-based guidelines, practices, and methodologies to strengthen the healthcare sector’s cybersecurity posture against cyber threats. This effort led to the development of the 405(d) Health Industry Cybersecurity Practices (HICP) Guide, which identifies ten practices that are tailored to small, medium, and large organizations.
With the passing of Public Law 116-321 (HR 7898) in early 2021, Congress underscored the importance and value of 405(d) HICP by requiring the Secretary of Health and Human Services to consider it among the recognized security practices of covered entities and business associates when determining fines and penalties related to a breach of protected health information. Evidence that recognized security practices are in place may be requested in regulatory inquiries and investigations. Additionally, some investors, cyber insurers, and other third parties have begun requiring that healthcare organizations they contract with demonstrate adoption of recognized security practices.
“We developed the 405(d) HICP Assessment and IRM|405(d) HICP to bring clarity and accessibility to the best practices contained within the 405(d) HICP Guide,” says Clearwater CEO Steve Cagle. “Though the guide was published in 2018, many healthcare organizations are unaware of how well their cybersecurity program maps to the practices that are defined. IRM|405(d) HICP and our leading team of cybersecurity experts give healthcare leaders very practical tools and guidance for evaluating their organization’s performance relative to those practices, helping them identify and address gaps that put the organization at risk.”
Through a structured assessment and purpose-built software solution that are directly in alignment with the 405(d) HICP Guide, Clearwater is helping healthcare organizations assess how well they satisfy the guide’s explicit requirements, identify current gaps, and equip teams to address those gaps. Additionally, the solution provides a repeatable, sustainable methodology and platform to complete and document an evaluation of these practices each year.
The assessment and IRM|405(d) HICP tool are available in small, medium, and large editions, aligned to the corresponding 405(d) HICP technical volumes.
“Demonstrating that you are following 405(d) HICP positions healthcare organizations favorably in the case of an audit or inquiry and drives better protection of PHI,” explained Clearwater’s Chief Product Officer Jon Stone, lead architect of the company’s IRM|Pro software solutions. “We developed our new IRM|405(d) HICP software solution to help healthcare leaders streamline and rapidly advance their assessment of those practices so they can strengthen their risk postures and build confidence in their security practices.”

Innovaccer Patient Relationship Management Recognized by KLAS as a Leading CRM Solution
Innovaccer receives a high score for its innovative patient engagement technology in the Performance Insights report published by KLAS Research.
SAN FRANCISCO—February 28, 2022—Innovaccer Inc., the Health Cloud company, announced that its Patient Relationship Management (PRM) solution has been recognized by providers as a high-performance Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solution in KLAS Research’s latest Performance Insights Report.
KLAS is a leading healthcare IT research firm that provides transparent and impartial insights and acts as a catalyst for improving vendor performance. The Performance Insights Report on CRM compiled data from interviews with healthcare providers. It provides a snapshot of competitive solutions’ standing at a given point in time in the marketplace. Innovaccer’s PRM solution—powered by the Innovaccer Health CloudⓇ— ranked among the two highest-rated solutions covered.
Traditional CRMs bring contact, engagement, purchase, and service interaction data into a customer profile, but they don’t include the patient’s clinical record. Innovaccer’s PRM solution is the first to bring patients’ clinical and care data to the forefront of a personalized consumer health 1-to-1 journey. Providers can integrate clinical data with claims, SDoH, service interaction data and engagement data to establish a complete patient record. Having this unified data helps providers go beyond optimizing revenue to transform care delivery. By bringing all patient data together, providers gain the insights they need to power truly patient-centric care at a 1-to-1 level never seen before till now.
“We have used features of Innovaccer’s [PRM solution] for campaigns and prioritizations,” said a CEO interviewed for the KLAS Performance Report. “We really got engaged using the data to evaluate who was at high risk for serious illness from COVID, so we integrated all of the clinical patient records that were in our system, so we could prioritize our outreach efforts, and use the [PRM] to feed us prioritization lists.”
Powered by the Innovaccer Health Cloud and backed by Innovaccer’s industry-leading Data Activation Platform, Innovaccer’s PRM solution streamlines patient engagement across all consumer touchpoints, including care episodes. Vocera, now part of Stryker, introduces latest evolution in hands-free communication to help protect and connect healthcare workers
KALAMAZOO, Michigan, USA, March 1, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Vocera, now part of Stryker, a global leading medical technology company, introduced the new Minibadge, a wearable, voice-driven device that enables mobile workers to communicate completely hands-free. The launch of this small, lightweight device, which can integrate with multiple clinical and operational systems, expands communication and collaboration solutions for frontline workers in healthcare and other mission-critical environments. Providing users with additional flexibility, the Minibadge works in conjunction with Vocera smartphone apps, making it fast and easy for users to alternate between mobile devices to fit their communication needs in the moment.
“The Minibadge is a great option for healthcare workers who need to be completely hands-free while communicating and collaborating with colleagues,” said David Augsburger, MSN, MBA, RN, CCRN, Director of Clinically Integrated Technology and Systems at Major Health Partners (MHP), where hospital leaders and frontline workers collaborate to find innovative ways to improve the safety and well-being of their patients, families, staff and community.
During human-centered design sessions and beta testing for the Minibadge, MHP team members expressed their delight with the device, emphasizing its ease of use, the long life of the battery, and its small, sleek form factor. MHP team members also praised the intuitive voice recognition of the Minibadge and its dedicated panic button. This discreet button is also a feature of the Smartbadge, which combines smartphone usability with hands-free communication and is deployed enterprise-wide at the hospital.
“The dedicated panic button on both the Minibadge and Smartbadge gives team members a sense of security and peace of mind,” Augsburger said. “Plus, the slight vibration of the Minibadge after the discreet one-way distress call is made, lets staff know they are being heard by security and help is on the way.”
Hands-free communication has helped protect and connect hospital workers around the world. It enables those in isolated environments to stay connected, ask for help, request supplies, and access information without having to leave the bedside or remove personal protective equipment (PPE).
“For more than 21 years, Vocera has led the way in hands-free communication, innovating on voice-driven solutions that simplify workflows and improve the safety and well-being of our customers and the people they serve,” said Dave Lively, Senior Vice President of Product Management, Vocera. “The Minibadge is a perfect example of that evolution. Its seamless compatibility with smartphones provides a valuable ‘and’ rather than ‘or’ option for organizations—empowering a broader spectrum of team members who need the flexibility to choose the best device for their assignment or task.”
Like with the predecessor Smartbadge, care team members can wear the Minibadge under PPE and initiate communication by saying “OK Vocera,” followed by simple voice commands, such as “call room 102 nurse,” “broadcast code blue,” or “schedule a reminder to turn Mr. Jones.” The Minibadge also enables team members to make and receive calls, quickly collaborate with colleagues, listen to messages and respond to alarm notifications completely hands-free. Depending on which device works best for their roles and workflows, the Vocera portfolio provides additional choices when it comes to mobility and interoperability.
“The Minibadge aligns to the technologies and solutions we provide as we strive to provide safer care and better outcomes,” said Jessica Mathieson, VP/GM of Acute Care, Stryker. “We’re excited to have the Vocera team join us at Stryker.”
Healthcare leaders can get a closer look at the Minibadge, Smartbadge, and other voice-driven solutions at the HIMSS Global Conference, March 14-18, 2022, in booth #2347. Attendees also can learn how intelligent, integrated voice capabilities enhance care team experience.
