The CHIME Foundation is pleased to announce that Ajay Kapare, vice president of marketing and strategy at ELLKAY, has been elected to serve on the CHIME Foundation Board and the CHIME Board of Trustees, beginning Jan. 1, 2020. He will take a seat with current members Carina Edwards, CEO of QUIL Health; Steve Eckert, general manager, healthcare, at AVAAP; and Helen Waters, executive vice president of MEDITECH.
Ajay will fill the four-year term held by Zane Burke, CEO at Livongo, whose insights and keen business acumen have helped the CHIME Foundation and CHIME thrive. During his tenure as a Board member, Zane served on the Finance Committee and provided excellent input and support for CHIME’s strategic planning effort. We are grateful to Zane for the many contributions he made to CHIME during his four years of service.
CHIME shared an update on officer positions and the election results on Oct. 11. The stellar lineup of officers for the 2021 Board of Trustees includes Tanya Townsend, senior vice president and CIO at LCMC Health, as CHIME Board chair; David Chou, CIO at Luye Medical Group, as secretary; and Darren Dworkin, CIO and senior vice president of enterprise information, as treasurer. Those positions are effective Jan. 1, 2021. John Kravitz, senior vice president and corporate CIO at Geisinger Health System, will serve as 2020 CHIME Board chair; Sheree McFarland, Division CIO, West Florida Division at HCA, as secretary; and Rusty Yeager, senior vice president and CIO at Encompass Health, as treasurer. Current CHIME Board Chair Shafiq Rab, MD, will transition to the position of 2020 chair of the CHIME Foundation.
Joining Ajay on the CHIME Board of Trustees will be George (Buddy) Hickman, executive vice president and system chief information and chief analytics officer (CIO/CAO) at Albany Medical Center; Daniel Nigrin, MD, senior vice president and CIO at Boston Children’s Hospital; and Sarah Richardson, vice president of IT change management at OptumCare.

I am passionate about collaboration that leads to the development of innovative technologies and solutions that can empower both providers and patients with tools to improve the patient’s healthcare journey. I look forward to continuing to work with CHIME and bringing my insight, experience, and passion while serving on the Foundation Board.”
Ajay develops and drives strategic industry, business and marketing relationships at ELLKAY and has participated in the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT’s Meaningful Use and Health Care Policy meetings in Washington, D.C. His previous positions include head of marketing at CompuGroup Medical US, director of global marketing at Sunquest Information Systems and product manager for Sunquest’s Business Analytics and Radiology solutions. His skills and background make him a great addition to our talented CHIME Foundation Board.
