PRESENTATION TOPIC:
Healthcare organizations are awash in data. Many struggle to obtain answers to key business questions, or to understand how to leverage that data to drive quality and process improvements. There are several reasons attributed to this disconnect, such as a lack of common definitions, and the inability of users to develop their own dashboards and drill-down analytics and proliferation of data silos.
Participants of the “Key Concepts and Relationships in Data Analytics” panel will discuss the critical need for data governance as a foundational element for analytics, how it relates to the Healthcare Analytic Adoption Model and the key principles required, the guiding principles for big data use in nursing, and a self-assessment to help nurses determine how well they can apply data governance principles to their own organizations. Other sessions in this track will cover two case studies, small group workshops, and lessons learned and takeaways for attendees to apply to their work settings.
