Award highlights Donatelli’s significant impact and advancements to the healthcare supply chain field
HOUSTON, Aug. 9, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — symplr®, a leading enterprise healthcare operations software provider, announced that Dee Donatelli, RN, BSN, MBA, senior director of symplr Spend, was recognized with the George R. Gossett Leadership Award by the Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) during the opening ceremony of this week’s AHRMM Annual Conference & Exhibition. This award, the association’s highest honor bestowed on an individual, was created in memory of George R. Gossett, an early president of AHRMM. This award highlights Donatelli’s 40+years of experience and continued contributions and commitment to advancing healthcare supply chain excellence and patient care.
“I am honored to receive the George R. Gossett Leadership Award,” said Donatelli. “As a registered nurse, it has always been my goal to provide patients with the best possible care. During my career I’ve advised some of the largest health systems in the U.S. to ensure they have a clinically integrated supply chain to minimize costs while improving patient outcomes.”
This achievement marks Donatelli’s third prestigious award in the field of supply chain management in the last several years. In 2022, she received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals (AHVAP) where she previously served as president. She also served on the Bellwether Board and in 2015 was inducted into its Hall of Fame for Healthcare Supply Chain Leadership.
Donatelli has served on numerous AHRMM committees, as well as the AHRMM Board for two terms, the second as Chair. In addition to these accolades, she is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board at Healthcare Purchasing News, a publication dedicated to healthcare supply chain management, to which she contributes numerous articles on the topic of supply chain value analysis.
“It’s an honor to work with Dee and see the powerful positive impact she has on value analysis professionals and the industry. Our team is inspired by her deep expertise and commitment to helping healthcare organizations improve spend management and overcome healthcare supply chain issues,” said BJ Schaknowski, CEO of symplr.
Donatelli has advised the country’s leading healthcare organizations on cost reduction and established hundreds of value analysis committees nationwide. She recently brought together experts from Cedars-Sinai, RWJBarnabas, and Health First during Value Analysis Week to discuss changing roles, industry trends and advancements in this discipline.
