Telestroke and the Expansion of Virtual Care in an Acute Care Setting
Event Information
Every 40 seconds, someone in the U.S. has a stroke, leading to over 140,000 deaths annually and many more facing long-term disability due to delayed or inappropriate treatment. This is especially challenging in rural areas, where experienced stroke care teams may be hours away.
Good news: Telestroke programs can make a significant impact in terms of quickly connecting patients with specialists. Complicated news: How does a telestroke program, or any acute care setting initiative, fit with other virtual care efforts on the ambulatory side? What about people, process, and technology. Any overlap in these areas? And once a telestroke program is setup, what are some additional service lines (tele-ICU, behavioral health for example) that could benefit from the technology and workflows?
This focus group will dial in on telestroke and learnings & observations we’ve had from some of eVisit’s customers. The discussion will resonate with Digital Transformation officers, CMIOs, and CIOs and we’re looking to hear from those who’ve launched digital care initiatives either in telestroke or other acute care settings.
