It’s been 5 years since the start of the pandemic. In that time, health systems have spent a fortune promoting and educating patients why urgent care is a better fit than the ER for lower-acuity cases. There’s been an increase in virtual care, providing another alternative vs. driving to the ER. There are care at home offerings and increased monitoring through RPM devices too.

So, looking at the landscape now, have we seen improvements in key ED metrics like left without being seen, patient wait time, and “door to order” time? What do these numbers look like? And, anecdotally, how have things changed at the locations in your health system?
