Stoltenberg Consulting Appoints Randy Carpenter Senior Vice President of Strategic Services
PITTSBURGH,PA – January 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ –– Stoltenberg Consulting, Inc., a leading healthcare information technology consulting firm, announced today the appointment of Randy Carpenter as senior vice president of strategic services. In this executive leadership role, Carpenter will focus on strategic relationships with key healthcare and technology service providers, as well as on working with clients in the strategic planning, IT governance, interim management, mentoring and system selection, implementation and optimization areas.

Prior to joining Stoltenberg, Carpenter served Omnicare Corporation, a $6.2B pharmaceutical services company based in Cincinnati, OH, as senior vice president and chief information officer from 2011 to 2014. Leading a team of several hundred information technology professionals, Carpenter was responsible for all corporate-wide information technology strategy and initiatives.
Carpenter’s additional past leadership roles include serving as senior vice president and CIO for HealthSouth Corporation; CIO for 18 acute care hospitals in Hampton, Va.; CIO for the Air Force Academy Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo.; and chief software development executive for the Medical Systems Program Management Office in Montgomery, Ala.

Carpenter served in the U.S. Air Force for over 23 years and retired from service in 2000. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in business administration and computer and information systems, as well as a master’s degree in personnel management from Troy State University. He also has a master’s degree in health informatics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Carpenter is a lifetime member (LCHIME) and fellow in the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (FCHIME) and a fellow in the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (FHIMSS).
