CHIME Foundation Looks to a Strong Second Half of 2018
6.12.2018 By Barb Sivek, Vice President, CHIME Foundation |
Back in January we outlined our vision for 2018. Now in June, CHIME Foundation is making great strides toward achieving the objectives laid out for us in 2018. We will wrap up the first half of this year with several exciting programs that you won’t want to miss. Here is a look at what we have accomplished this year and upcoming opportunities.
We opened registration for the CHIME Partner Education Summit (CPES), which will be held Sept 5-7 at Loews Chicago O’Hare Hotel. This is our third CPES, and we have a dynamite lineup that includes new faculty members in addition to a few CIOs who participated last year. Frank Nydam, the CPES Planning Committee chair, offers more details in his article in this month’s in this issue of Insight. Frank and I will be there, and we hope to see you there, too.
The CHIME Foundation Certified Healthcare Executive (CFCHE) program is approaching its one-year anniversary (June 23) and has garnered interest, attention, and 29 designees during its inaugural year. CFCHE is your opportunity as a CHIME Foundation representative to distinguish yourself and showcase your professional commitment, credibility and comprehensive understanding of the healthcare IT environment.
In 2018 we are working to continue highlighting the many similarities that CFCHE shares with CHCIO, our industry certification for CIOs. CHCIO has grown to be an industry standard over the last 8-plus years. Like CHCIO, CFCHE recognizes those who understand the various responsibilities and strategic vision of a healthcare leader. With the support of our growing contingent of CFCHE holders, we will continue building awareness of the CFCHE certification in the industry. Join your peers as a fellow CFCHE, and start building more influential collaborative partnerships with CHIME members.
Also on the agenda this year is the CHIME Advocacy Summit on Oct. 3-5 in Washington, D.C. This is a new educational program that is open to CHIME Foundation firm representatives, CHIME members, members of CHIME’s affiliated associations and others. Speakers will include Washington, D.C., policy leaders, CHIME and CHIME affiliated association members. Liz Johnson, our Foundation Board chair and chair of CHIME’s Public Policy Steering Committee, shares more about our inaugural summit in this issue. If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities for this inaugural event – we would welcome your participation.
2018 is a milestone year for CHIME Foundation; it’s our 25th anniversary! CHIME has already begun executing plans to highlight this exciting occasion in a variety of ways, leading up to a big celebration at CHIME18 Fall CIO Forum in San Diego this October and early November. Whether you have been a Foundation member since the beginning, or whether you have just joined us recently, we are taking time to celebrate you, our valued members, who help make the Foundation such a robust part of the CHIME mission.
CHIME and CHIME Foundation have continued our trend of organizational growth over the last 3-plus years. In addition to bringing on a new events associate to support signature events like Fall CIO Forum, Healthcare CIO Boot Camp™, the CHIME Foundation has also added a new team member: Caitlin Kelly, director of Strategic Partnerships. Caitlin’s role is to help support your firm’s strategic priorities throughout the year and to connect you with the different ways you might engage with CHIME members outside of your normal benefits. Examples include a research topic you may want to pursue with our members through implementing multiple online surveys or increased, in-person engagement with provider members. The Partnership Plus program is designed to meet your specific marketing needs and help you achieve your strategic goals. If you’d like to learn more about this program, Caitlin will be happy to meet with you.
As we begin the second half of 2018, the CHIME Foundation is even better positioned to support your team in increased exposure, connection and valuable interaction with our CHIME provider members. It’s an exciting time to be involved with CHIME Foundation, and we’re thankful for your continued partnership.
