CHIME Adds Convenience to Getting CHCIO Certification
6.21.2018 Donna Roach – CHIME Board Secretary, Chief Information Officer, Ascension Information Services-St. Louis |
Many of our healthcare organizations are increasingly engaged with the patient experience, using healthcare IT to serve patients when and where they want. Now CHIME is doing the same for you by offering certification from the convenience of your work or home office.
CHIME now allows members to schedule their CHIME Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) exams at a time and place that is convenient for them. This new feature offers another way to complete your certification within your busy schedule. These “in home” tests allow for flexibility while maintaining the integrity of the exam and credential itself.
Exams taken remotely will be monitored by Kryterion testing support to ensure everything runs smoothly and is completed to the highest standard. Remote testing exam preparation will remain the same, but now you have far less obstacles standing in your way of becoming CHCIO certified.
If remote testing is not your preferred method, Kryterion Testing Centers and CHIME in-person events will continue to provide testing opportunities to complete your CHCIO.
To date, more than 400 members have earned the CHCIO title, a designation that demonstrates their expertise and commitment to quality patient care. CHIME has a dedicated team in place to explain the process, help you determine if you are eligible for certification, and once you pass the exam, how to maintain your certification. You can reach them at [email protected].
You can learn more about the CHCIO program here. A 10 percent savings is available for exams completed this summer.
I look forward to seeing more of us carry this honor and take our profession to the next level.
