Indiana HIE’s Chuck Christian Wins CHIME Policy Leadership Award

Charles (Chuck) Christian, a longtime advocate for applying health IT to improve patient care, has been named the winner of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) 2017 Federal Public Policy Award for CIO Leadership. The honor was announced this week to coincide with National Health IT Week.

Women of CHIME Initiative Addresses Gender Disparities in Healthcare IT

CHIME17 Forum Focuses on Healthcare IT Challenges, Future Directions

CHIME to Offer Educational Track at Georgia HIMSS

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) will present a four-session track on digital leadership and the changing role of the CIO on Oct. 17 at the Georgia Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference. This will mark the first time that CHIME has paired with the Georgia Chapter of HIMSS on the event, which is scheduled to be at the Cobb Galleria Conference Center in Atlanta.

CHIME Praises CMS Decision to Remove 2015 CEHRT Mandates in 2018

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) made several changes to a final rule on Wednesday that improve the chances that hospitals will successfully fulfill their Meaningful Use and electronic clinical quality measures (eCQMs) reporting requirements. CHIME is pleased that CMS listened to our members on these issues.

CHIME & AEHIS Leadership Support Medical Device Cybersecurity Act

On July 27, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) introduced the Medical Device Cybersecurity Act of 2017 (S.1656). The legislation would make the cybersecurity capabilities of medical devices more transparent to providers, clarifies expectations concerning security enhancements and maintenance of medical devices and establishes a cybersecurity emergency response team.
