It is with great pride that we celebrate our one-year anniversary for the CHIME Foundation Certified Healthcare Executive (CFCHE) program! I want to congratulate all those who have vested their trust and time into pursuing this designation and for those continuing to strive for this honored achievement.
Just an idea years ago, CFCHE is evolving into a driving force in the world of professional development for CHIME Foundation members. Undergoing some tough conversation from both sides of CHIME membership, CFCHE was constructed to mirror the Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) program available to our CHIME CIO members while validating our Foundation partners for their commitment and experience in this industry. The hard work and dedication of a strong group of CIO and Foundation professionals paid off at the end of summer 2017 as CFCHE became the first professional development program for our Foundation partners.
Hamish Stewart-Smith, managing director, sales at CTG recently earned his CFCHE designation at September’s CPES event. Stewart-Smith says of the exam process, “I was initially intimidated by the body of knowledge for the test, but after diving in I realized the material had been well selected. It really revolved around the whole transition we are making to value-based care, and made sure that participants in the CFCHE process had a common baseline for understanding that transition.”
On his motivations for taking the exam, Stewart-Smith shares, “I want to know that I’m keeping pace with the best thinking on how to support our healthcare clients and the populations they serve, and I want to be able to create and deliver solutions to support that mission. I felt the CFCHE process tested that mindset, and hopefully communicates my commitment to the many people I work with across extended healthcare teams.”
This is an exciting time for all of us who value CHIME and professional development. Whether you are an experienced CIO or leader within your partnering firm, this credential is sure to take your business and professional aspirations to the next level! Stewart-Smith speaks highly of the designation’s value, both personally and in the industry.
